Wrythe Convention Signed

His Majesty the King has, by Royal Decree, added his signature to the Wrythe Convention. By doing so, he pledges to denounce and condemn micronations and entities that engage and/or participate in fabrication and falsehoods. Ratified on September 15, 2018, the Wrythe Convention is an intermicronational treaty which condemns sockpuppeting, identity theft, and false claims within micronationalism. The treaty was initially signed by delegates from seven micronations, as well as from the Grand Unified Micronational organization. It has now been signed by eighty-six subsequent micronations since its ratification.🎺

Interim Capital Announced by Royal Decree

Today, His Majesty The King announced by Royal Decree the temporary name for the Capital city. It is called the Kingston Administrative District, or Kingston for short. Since the constitution has not yet been completed, an official Capital city hasn’t been established. With the country steadily growing, it was determined that a home base was needed for the Government of Liahonia. It is requested that all questions be addressed to the Department of Public Relations, which can be done by clicking here.🎺

Liahonia Concludes Talks with the UCCR

Beginning on June 10, 2021, His Majesty The King began a discussion with a representative of the Union of Christian Communist Republics on the topics of social diversity and religious freedom, according to an official transcript released by the Department of Foreign Relations. The discussion was held on MicroWiki, following the department’s decision to add the UCCR to the list of Unrecognized Micronations. According to the transcript, the goal was to “persuade the UCCR to lift their restrictions on religious freedom.” This goal ultimately was not met. On June 17, it was decided to end the talks after several days without a response from the UCCR. The status of the UCCR will remain unchanged, unless they pass legislation to lift these restrictions. If this occurs, the status of recognition will go under review.🎺

Changes Coming to the Department of Foreign Relations

According to a statement released this morning, the Minister of Foreign Relations, Rt. Hon. Sean Douangaphaivong, is going on a government approved hiatus to serve in the Mexico City Southeast Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This hiatus will be in effect until no later than June 1, 2023. Although he will be absent during this period, he will retain his title and position. An Acting Minister of Foreign Relations will be appointed in due time.🎺

Government Proposes New Flags

The Government is proposing a set of new flags. This is in response to the Declaration of Reclassification released in January of last year. In the declaration, it states, “the National Standard will be redefined to better reflect the people.” Though changes to the Royal Standard were not mentioned in this document, it has been decided that it would be redesigned so the two flags would reflect upon each other. A survey has been released to gather opinions.🎺

The King Sends Condolences to Austenasia

The Office of His Majesty The King issued an official statement this morning expressing his sympathy and condolences to the Imperial Family of Austenasia following the death of the Emperors great-uncle, Lord Geoffrey Trory, Duke of Belfast. He was 94. His Imperial Majesty has called for a state of mourning to be observed until the funeral.🎺

He was 99. Her Majesty The Queen has called for a state of national mourning to be observed until the funeral.🎺

King's Grandmother Dies

His Majesty The King’s grandmother, DeEtta, Duchess of Preston, passed away yesterday at the age of 79, according to a statement released this morning.

Born in Southern Idaho, she is the oldest of six children. She spent her childhood and teen years on a small farm, of which she happily enjoyed. She graduated from high school in 1960. From 1962-1964, she served a mission in Ireland for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spending half of her mission as a secretary to the mission president. After returning home, she worked for the Church in Salt Lake City, serving as secretarial support for the Missionary Department. She was later counseled by Elder Gordon B. Hinckley to move to California, where she would meet her future husband. following that counsel, she moved to San Francisco, where she met her soulmate, David. They were later married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1969. The couple made their home in the Bay Area, where they lived for 40 years. They had four children along the way. Later in life, she retired and moved back to Southern Idaho, where she spent the rest of her joyous life.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, her 4 children, 17 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. A private funeral will be held the following Saturday.

She was loved so very much, and will be deeply missed. The Royal Family requests that the public allow the family to mourn privately.🎺
